Thanksgiving Aftermath

Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend! This weekend was all about family, food, fun, and, of course, good deals! I am fully stuffed, but my wallet is just a little bit emptier. It’s a bummer that the weekend has come to a close. But at least Christmas is only a month away!

Below are a few snapshots of what transpired on Thanksgiving day:

Here’s to the Holidays! Cheers! xo

Thankful Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! I don’t know about you, but I am so ready to get my grub on! But, even more than that, I’m looking forward to spending some quality time with all my loved ones. As I prepare for this evening’s festivities and indulge in some gluttony, I’d like to take this moment to count all my blessings. 2012 has been a great year, and there’s lots to be thankful for! Here’s a just a small list  of what I’m most grateful for:

1. Family

Teeney and I can attest that our family is everything! We’re fortunate to have a close-knit cluster of cousins, aunts, uncles, mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, babies and grandmother. Just this year, we had two new additions to the family. Two little healthy and adorable bundles of joy: our nephew lucky Luke Emmanuel and our precious niece Danielle Claire.

2. New Jobs

With a high unemployment rate that’s pervading our country, I’m just thankful to have a job. To have a job at ModCloth, my dream company, is an added bonus. Each day, I’m thankful to have the opportunity to work there. With my new job and Teeney’s new  gig at Bebe, we both are on the right track with our careers.

3. Technology

I guess it’s kind of bad how people these days have become so dependent on technology. But, c’mon, who can live without it? A few months earlier, I lost my iphone, and, man, did I feel the pain and pangs of that. Just recently, I was able to upgrade and reunite with an iPhone once again, and now I’m even more appreciative of it. Never will I let you out of my sight, dear iPhone. 😀

4. Bay Area Sports

This year, the Bay Area was lucky enough to experience a 2nd championship in 3 years with the SF Giants winning the World Series. I feel that our other teams will follow suit, with the 49ers on a winning tear, and yes even the Warriors! I’m thankful for my teams for providing me hours of entertainment and those moments of glory.

5. Good Music

Being the music buff that I am, how can I not be thankful for music? All of my days are fueled by the sweet melody of good tunes. And what kind of post would this be, if I didn’t end with my trademark music mix. For your listening pleasure, below is a Thanksgiving Playlist from yours truly:

You’re welcome!

What are you most thankful for?

Month Modiversary

I can’t believe that it’s already been a little more than month since I’ve started working at ModCloth. It’s been hectic, challenging and incredibly fun all at the same time. Everyday brings an exciting new adventure, and I’ve learned a whole lot!

I feel very lucky to have this opportunity to work at ModCloth. It feels pretty inspiring and empowering to be in a work environment where everyone is passionate about what they do. The majority of the employees are female,  many of whom are extremely smart, talented, and at the executive level status (girl power!).

What’s awesome is that I sit just about 20 feet away from my idol–none other than Susan G. Koger herself (the founder of ModCloth)! She has amazing style, and I’m always excited to see her outfit. Winston is not too far away too!

While it’s been extremely busy with the holiday season and all, ModCloth still manages to bring some fun to work! From donut days to bowling outings. One of my favorite things about work is an event we have on Tuesdays called On-Trend Tuesday. Basically, it’s a photoshoot with all the girls who wear ModCloth garb that day. Here’s one of my On-Trend Tuesday pics:

It’s really been a dream come true, and I’m looking forward to see what’s in store. To my one month and hopefully many more! 🙂

2012 World Series Champions – SF Giants

Congratulations to the San Francisco Giants, the World Series Champions of 2012! I couldn’t be anymore proud of our team. Coming from behind not once but twice, and sweeping the Tigers in dominant fashion. You proved all the naysayers wrong, overcame daunting adversity, and showed the world what it means to be a team! It was a fun ride this year. Thank you Giants for an unbelievable season!

Can’t wait for the parade this Wednesday! 🙂

A Toast to bebe + ModCloth

Hello everyone! It’s been a while since my last post, and a lot has happened since then! I recently started a new job at ModCloth, and it has been super busy, but awesome!  It has always been a dream of mine to work for ModCloth, so I’m very thankful to have this opportunity.

To celebrate our recent accomplishments, Teeney and I ventured off into the city last weekeend for a well-deserved day full of sun, fun, food, and, of course, shopping! We started off our Sunday Funday with a bottomless mimosa brunch at B Restaurant courtesy of a great deal from Gilt. After taking a delightful stroll through Yerba Buena Gardens,  we headed towards the shops to do what we do best! Of course, the day wouldn’t be complete without a sweet treat, so we stopped by Cako on our way out. All in all, it was an amazing day!

Fall 2012 Playlist

Today is the first day of Fall! With the cold air in the midst, I felt a tinge of inspiration, and I figured what better way to commemorate the season than to create a kick-ass playlist.

It’s the perfect soundtrack to kick back and relax, watching the leaves fall, all bundled up while drinking your pumpkin-spiced latte. Thematically, think: brisk atmosphere, aged attitudes and withering hearts.  Gotta love Fall symbolism! Enjoy!

Fall for Layers

So I know that the official start of Fall is still about a month or so away, but I can’t wait for the season to arrive! It’s probably one of my most favorite seasons of the year, at least style wise, mainly due to the fact that it’s the perfect time to pile on those layers. If you know me, you know I’m all about my layers! Scarves over sweaters over dresses over tights all day everyday!

Recap: Outside Lands Festival 2012 – Day 2

Hey there folks! Here’s the second installment of my recap for Outside Lands. With the first day jitters out of the way, by the time day 2 came along, we were practically pro’s maneuvering our way around the Park and getting the timing down for sets.

I figured Saturday would be our longest day, so it would be best to bust out with thee best outfit I had planned, maxi skirt and all.

Started the second day off with Geographer at the Twin Peaks stage. Their set was a great way to start off the day, as the sun came to peek out during their performance. It’s crazy to see how far the band has come. I remember when I first interviewed them for the CW when they were but a wee up-and-coming band. Now they’re selling out shows and playing the big stage at Outside Lands! I must say…Geographer really stepped their game up!

Next to the Foo Fighters, I would say the Alabama Shakes put on one of the most kick-ass performances of the weekend. Lead singer Brittany Howard is a force to be reckoned with!  Her voice was heart-achingly awe-inspiring, and you could just feel the emotion poring out of her with every breath.  I was totally blown away by the band’s performance. Definitely a pleasant surprise.

Things got rather loud and rambunctious towards the end of the day. Caught a bit of Passion Pit’s set. They were super fun! Also, got to do some dancing out at the Heineken DJ Dome with Saves The Robot on the turntables. Never thought I would have as much fun as I did at the dome.

Our Saturday came to a close as Metallica took the stage. It was pretty much over once they began to play. The band just absolutely killed it. Holy crap were they LOUD! We were barely half way towards our way to the stage when there was just this huggge wall of sound. Flames and pyrotechnics were going off everywhere. Totally insane! Gotta love Metallica. \m/

Recap: Outside Lands Festival 2012 – Day 1

Outside Lands Festival has came and went, and this year’s show was nothing less than legendary! To summarize all of what happened in one post would be an injustice to the event, so I will divulge the deets in separate installments.

Day 1 was pretty darn exciting, and we were able to cover a whole bunch of ground! Kicked off the day with some Tanlines (the band, not the actual thing…thank goodness I did not get sunburned like in previous years haha). Got to sneak in a special acoustic set from Geographer.  We headed towards the front of the main stage for Beck, and I was absolutely ecstatic that he played “Lost Cause.”

Probably the best performance of the day (arguably the entire festival) came in the form of the Foo Fighters. Dave Grohl is a beast! They played their hits, as well as some b-sides, and ended with “Everlong”.  I could’ve died happy at that moment right there. 🙂

The day culminated with some Justice and, of course, we just had to end it with the man, the myth, the legend that is Neil Frickin’ Young!

Let the Countdown Begin…

While today marks the beginning of a new week, I’m already looking forward to this upcoming weekend. You see, one of my most favorite events of the year is coming up really soon! And, of course, I am talking about the Outside Lands Festival!

Even though this will be my 3rd year in a row attending the event, it will actually be my first time going all 3 days! I’ve always just went one day, so I’m doing my best to prepare for all the epic moments to come.

This year probably boasts one of the biggest lineups to date with Neil Young, Beck, Jack White, Foo Fighters, and oh you know the legend that is Stevie Wonder. However, I’m equally as stoked to see the other up-and-coming, rising artists. Below, I’ve compiled a playlist of those artists that are currently on my radar. Hope you enjoy! 🙂

1. Geographer – Kites
2. Tanlines – Brothers
3. Birdy – 1901
4. White Denim – I Start to Run
5. Tennis – Origins
6. City and Colour – The Girl
7. Alabama Shakes – Hold On
8. Washed Out – A Dedication
9. Caveman – Great Life
10. Of Monsters and Men – Little Talks

Who are you most excited to see at Outside Lands?
